Maxime Raymond
Me Raymond practices exclusively in criminal and penal law. He represents his clients – individuals and companies – both at first instance and on appeal.
Since the beginning of his career, he has worked on complex cases of gangsterism, importation and production of narcotics, corruption of foreign agents, dangerous driving causing injury, impaired driving causing death, of fraud, murder and sexual assault.
Although he is involved in major cases, Me Raymond has an equally important interest in representing individuals accused for the first time. He considers that the accompaniment and popularization of the judicial process are two important aspects of quality legal representation, and allows individuals to navigate through a process that is sometimes complex and long.
Me Raymond is committed to his peers and occasionally acts as a speaker. He recently gave lectures on the specific legal rules that apply in sexual offense cases. He was a lecturer at the École Polytechnique de Montréal and also acted as an intervener at the Supreme Court on behalf of the Quebec Association of Defense Lawyers (“AQAAD”).
While he was a student, Mr. Raymond distinguished himself in the Pan-Canadian Gale Cup moot court competition by winning the prize for best moot in the elimination round.
Me Raymond firmly believes that the preparation of a file is done in partnership with his clients, and that they have an important role to play in the success of their files. He relies on rigorous preparation, in-depth knowledge of the law and its recent developments, as well as an approach based on the result expected by the client.
